Description

Vehicles ply I-70, the oldest interstate in Missouri. According to David Ahlvers, state construction and materials engineer with the Missouri Department of Transportation, the highway was originally designed to last 20 years. Ahlvers added that over its about 50 years history, there have been many overlays on the highway, which are not cost effective. (KOMU Photo/Manu Bhandari)
