Arulmigu PudhuVangal Amman temple is a holy place for kongu vellalar community. The people belonging to Varagunna Perungudi Kootam worship this Goddess as their Mother Goddess.PudhuVangal Amman temple situated Vangal is a village in the Karur district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is situated 80 km (50 mi) from Tiruchirappalli and 7 miles from Karur town. Vangal is also known as Vangal-Kuppuchipalayam and Vangal Palayur.

About 130 years ago our forefathers separated from the old Vangal Amman Temple and built new Vangal Amman Temple naming the deity, Mother Goddess as Arulmigu Pudhuvangal Amman and established the temple. There are about 6000 families of people belonging to our clan, PudhuVangal Temple, spread over the districts of Karur, Namkal, Dindukal, Madhurai, Kovai, Salem and Erode. This is the fifth generation of families belong to the new temple.

After a long gap, in 1979 the PudhuVangal Amman Temple was rejuvenated and MahaKumbhabishiekam had been performed in grant manner. This was first Kumbhabiskeham in Kongu Kudipattukara temples or Kulathaiva temple, is a great pride for all of us.
