Spaceslide is a British wardrobe and bedroom furniture manufacturing company, based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

Spaceslide manufacture and ship product from their UK warehouses and online.

Spaceslide have partnered with ScrewFix to create the crossover brand, ScrewfixWardrobes. The ScrewfixWardrobes partnership was formed to serve a wider customer base. This retail model was also replicated with B&Q, to form B&Q Sliding Doors.

History & Home Décor Ltd[edit]

Part of the Home Décor group, Spaceslide has been an established institute for over 40 years[1], trading specifically in wardrobes and bedroom furniture.

The Home Décor group formed in 1975 as Acmetrack, before being acquired by The Stanley Works Inc in 1987. Sold in 2004, The Stanley Works Inc was renamed Home Décor GB Ltd.[2]

Home Décor now have offices overseas in Italy, China, Australia and the USA. Spaceslide are based in Home Décor’s headquarters in Sheffield, England. Home Decor manufacturer over 400,000 doors each year. [3]

Corporate Affairs & financial performance[edit]

Home Décor has an annual turnover of £50m, with over 350 staff.

Home Decor manufactures and installs fitted wardrobes direct to consumers through its Spaceslide brand. Home Décor’s other brands include Optiplan Kitchens, a UK kitchen retailer selling handmade kitchens from a network of showrooms across the South East, and Manor Interiors, which manufactures kitchens to supply direct to architects and house builders.

Home Décor GB Ltd trading as Spaceslide are a credit broker and are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Credit is provided by Hitachi Personal Finance, a division of Hitachi Capital (UK) PLC.

Home Décor acquired Optiplan Kitchens Ltd, and The Manor Cabinet Company in May 2016. The acquisition was funded by investment from Home Décor's majority shareholder Cerberus Capital Management, alongside a new funding package from HSBC. The acquisition increased the Group’s revenues from circa £30m to £50m per annum, most of which is in the UK.[4]

Physical showrooms[edit]

Spaceslide have physical showroom locations in Hemel Hempstead, Lichfield, Farnham, Hale, Basingstoke and Windlesham.

Media & Television[edit]

Spaceslide have been featured on the following television shows: Channel 4’s The Home Show, ITV’s 60-minute Makeover and DIY SOS, which aired on the BBC.[5]

Charity work[edit]

In 2018, Home Décor raised funds to allow Sheffield Children’s Hospital to open a new wing with full working facilities.[6]
