Sabri Suby (born 1 September 1985) is an Australian serial entrepreneur. Sabri Suby is a serial entrepreneur, best-selling author and founder of digital marketing agency King Kong. He has appeared in the AFR's Fast Starters list twice, and created his $12 million per year digital marketing agency, King Kong, before the age of 30.

Suby first launched King Kong in May 2014 with $50 and a computer his girlfriend had bought him. Today, the agency is the fastest-growing digital marketing agency in Australia, bolstered by its ROI-driven approach. In just three years, Suby grew the agency from two to 38 team members.

In 2019, Suby launched his best-selling business book, Sell Like Crazy, which went from 90,000 on the day of release to becoming an international bestseller on Amazon within ten minutes


Early life[edit]

Born on September 1, 1985, Suby grew up in Byron Bay, NSW, Australia, where his single mother raised him.

He attributes his drive to his mother’s strong work ethic in juggling multiple jobs to provide for the family while continuing to make time for him and his sister. His mother’s influence has prompted Suby to focus on productivity and work/life balance as a business owner.

Suby attended [Steiner School]Shearwater Steiner School, during which time he became a self-taught entrepreneur.

He formalised his business education with a Bachelor of Business and Marketing at Melbourne's [RMIT University in 2010.]

Career[edit]

Early Career[edit]

Suby began his career in sales and marketing at age 17, where he was tasked with cold calling business to sell them ink cartridges per day.

After holding various roles in sales and marketing, including a stint in London, Suby started his first business, a digital marketing agency, in 2010. He grew the agency to a team of 20 people, bringing in a couple of million dollars in revenue each year. He sold his stake in the company after 18 months for an undisclosed amount.

In late 2011, Suby launched sports group-buying marketplace GameTime with Collingwood Football Club, Hawthorn Football Club and the Sydney Swans Football Club. He closed the company in 2012, telling The Sydney Morning Herald: “The writing was on the wall in terms of fatigue about group buying.”

He launched his most successful business, digital marketing consultancy King Kong, in May 2014.

King Kong[edit]

In late 2014 Suby founded digital marketing agency King Kongin his bedroom, starting with $50 in VoIP credit. King Kong’s services include SEO, CRO, PPC, Facebook Advertising, web design and marketing automation.

Growth-focused and ROI-driven, the agency became the fastest growing full-service digital marketing agency in Australia in 2017and 2018 , according to the Australian Financial Review’s Fast Starters list. Within five years, King Kong went from Suby as a single consultant to a business with 61 staff operating out of offices in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

King Kong’s approach is to avoid vanity metrics like impressions, clicks, likes, shares, and follows in favour of sales conversions. This philosophy has seen King Kong disrupt the digital marketing spacedisrupt the digital marketing space and go from amassing more than $400 million for the agency and its clients in 2017 to generated in excess of $1.33 billion in sales for him and his clients by 2019.

In 2019, King Kong was named one of Australia's most innovative companies (AFR Most Innovative Companies 2019, Media and Marketing list[1]).

Consulting Empire[edit]

In 2018, Suby created the Consulting Empire course with Foundr Magazine. The step-by-step course teaches consultants how to scale a consultancy with a steady flow of customer leads.
