The geographic extent of the region inhabited by the Purum ranges from 24°23′ to 25°27′ N and from 93°56′ to 94°2′ E. Its PIN code is 795118, and the postal head office is Saikul.
There are around 47 to 50 households in the village and a population of around 350 to 400. The people living in Purum Likli are called the Purums. The Purum Likli village is exclusively for the Purum tribe.
The Purum people speak Purum language. The word Purum is used to refer to a place, a language and the tribe. Besides Purum language, all the Purum people also speak the Manipuri language. The inhabitants are mainly Christian.
The literacy rate of the community is 84.62% against the 76.94% of Manipur. In Purum Likli village, male literacy stands at 89.77%, while the female literacy rate is 80.37%.
The village is the primary political unit in Purum society. Its affairs are managed by a council of elders headed by the khullakpa (village chief); the luplakpa (assistant to the village chief).
Nationally, its assembly constituency is Saikul assembly constituency, and the current Assembly MLA is Yamthong Haokip. The Lok Sabha constituency is Outer Manipur, and the current Parliament MP is Lorho S. Pfoze.
