Served with 1 RB in Germany, UK, Kenya during Mau Mau Emergency and Malayan Emergency, Instructor Eaton Hall Officer Cadet School, Exchange Officer PPCLI in Western Canada, GSO 2 HQ 1 Br Corps, with 3 Green Jackets in Cyprus, Hong Kong, and Borneo Confrontation, GSO 2 Tactics School of Infantry, Directing Staff National Defence College, Commanding Officer Rifle Depot, Colonel GS HQ BAOR, Commander Gurkha Field Force Hong Kong, Deputy Director SD MOD, DA Australia, Papua New Guinea and MA New Zealand.
Director General Marie Curie Cancer Care, 1985-97, Vice Chairman National Council for Hospice and Specialist Palliative Care Services, Chairman Leicester Royal Infirmary NHS Trust, 1997-99.
