Industrial Test Systems Inc., (ITS) was founded in 1989 by Ivars and Daryl Jaunakais and the headquarters is based in Rock Hill, SC. ITS is one of the leading manufacturers of instruments and chemistries designed to test water quality parameters, and they have also developed the first and only USEPA approved test strip.(Published in the 2007 Federal Register (vol 72, no 47, Monday, March 12, 2007 p. 11204, ITS method D99-003)) They also serve a wide variety of industries: municipal water treatment, food beverage, and trucking & automotive, pond and aquarium, pool and spa, educational, and medical diagnostics.

Ivars Jaunakais, founder and Chief Technical Officer of Industrial Test Systems (ITS), located in Rock Hill, SC, has been developing and advancing the testing market for over 40 years. Building on his extensive test strip background in the medical diagnostic field, Mr. Jaunakais has revolutionized testing in pool, environmental and water testing industries while developing over 100 tests and proprietary chemistries covered by U.S. and Worldwide patents, industries. Beginning his company in 1989, there were four main principles that were introduced: quality, simplicity, value, and service. Up to date, Ivars and Daryl Jaunakais work with their small team of 40 to provide customers all over the world with Industrial Test Systems, Inc. (ITS) instruments and chemistries designed to test water quality parameters to anyone that needs to monitor the quality of their water. Building on to the ITS foundation, he introduced two new and patented strip methodologies which include the ReagentStrip® and SenSafe® Strip that benefit water treatment professionals. His company has advanced the application of the SenSafe® Free Chlorine strips to the stringent regulatory guidelines of the US EPA to become the first approved official test for Free Chlorine drinking water monitoring. (Published in the 2007 Federal Register (vol 72, no 47, Monday, March 12, 2007 p. 11204, ITS method D99-003)). The easy-to-use kits require no technical training and are ideal for onsite testing. It has reduced inorganic arsenic analysis time to 12 minutes using a food grade acid in place of hazardous acids while also accomplishing detection levels never achieved before without the use of expensive laboratory equipment
