Michael Ekene Elomba (born February 21, 1998), better known by his stage name Darozi, is an Nigerian rapper, singer,song writer, record producer and mix engineer. He gained recognition on May 25th, 2017 after the release of his debut single "Way Up", which gained him a follow on Instagram by one of Africa's top Nigerian born record prodcer, "Kiddominant[5]. After releasing a couple of singles and 1 EP, The South Side EP, Michael is set to release his critically acclaimed EP, Summer Criminal The EP (2019).

Early life[edit]

Michael was born on May 21, 1998,> in Nigeria.> He is sn African of Igbo descent, and is the son of Pharmacist, Felix Elomba. He grew up in Enugu State He began practicing vocals at a tender age. At the age of 16, he self produced his first rap single, involving other rappers (neighbours) on the verses, this part of his life he rapped about on 44, one of the songs in his forthcoming EP.

Career[edit]

Darozi embarked on his music career under his alias Darozi, Darozi released his debut track, called "Way Up". The song was produced by himself as Magic Beatz. On November 1, 2017, Darozi released his commercial debut single, titled "Corner Store" on SoundCloud and Audiomack.[6] The song released on iTunes within two years later as part of his first EP, The Southside.

He continued his music exploits, gaining recognition on campus as one of the top ranking record prducer con artiste. He excelled in both departments. Exactly a year after the release of Corner Store a gangster themed music, he celebrated the anniversary of his ground breaking record by releasing Sicario [7], a Trap Song with a Hispanic drug cartel vibe.

Sicario will still be featured on the up coming EP, Summer Criminal the EP, which will be on all Digital Platforms by (August 1, 2019)

More insights to Daroz's career as a record producer and mix engineer has taken a good turn over the years as he produced Chocolate[8] on the Art of Peer Pressure EP[9], a ground breaking project which accumulated 'iTunes Star' recognition on 2 out of 7 songs by Shaggyfromthe 91st [10]. Also back in the first quarter of 2017, Darozi as Magic Beatz engineered Trap Mike's debut Playlist Project titled I'm The Boy EP which gained him a record deal after a friend referred him to Lonaire Ent boss in the second quarter of the same year. Going further, Magic Beatz (Darozi's alias a producer is Magic Beatz) created a fusion with Trap Mike creating singles that went viral on campus. A very significant feat was achieved on the released of a collabo track titled "Talk it Over a Smoke" which featured on both I'm the Boy EP by Trap mike and South Side EP by Darozi, the same song was later incorporated to Trap Mike's 2019 project (Trapped Up Stunna Album)[12] as a bonus track. Magic Beatz was a strong force behind Trap Mike's 2019 album, "Trapped Up Stunna Album" as he engineered 14 out of 16 songs on the project.[13]

In the early months of 2019, Magic Beatz produced and engineered A1 Bobby's hit single with 2uncii titled Bloc 2 Bloc [14] under the MAW Inc Some other amazing MAW Inc projects were produced and/or engineered by Magic Beatz. Musical style[edit]

Darozi's musical style is influenced by southern hip hop, namely trap music which originated in Atlanta, Georgia. He is known as the Liquid Inferno, owing to the fact that he has a hot rap culture but also infuses emotions to his music, creating a soothing and calm feel of Hip hop Soul
