Cybertec is an Italian company that develops APS (Advanced Planning and Scheduling) software as well as supply chain optimization software. The company is headquartered in Trieste, Italy.


The company was founded in Trieste in 1991 by the engineer Helmut Kirchner. Kirchner together with some colleagues initially began developing a software for the production planning as a side project.

The mission that led the team founding Cybertec was to "help industrial customers to increase resources utilization and service level whilst reducing stocks, product cost and human efforts".


Cybertec's Advanced Planning and Scheduling software is called CyberPlan. The software uses and IMDB and proprietary algorithms to simultaneously plan and schedule production, using available data regarding: materials, labor, plant capacity.[1]


In addition to its headquarters in Trieste, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Cybertec has offices in Padova, Veneto.


Notable companies which use Cybertec software include ABB, Ansaldo Energia, Artsana, GE Oil and Gas, Luxottica, Selle Royal, Vertiv.[2]


Michael Pinedo mention Cybertec as "the largest planning and scheduling software company in Italy[3]" in his book "Planning and Scheduling in Manufacturing and Services".[4]

On February 19, 2015, APICS awarded Cybertec with the "Excellence Award" and the "Customer focus" award.[5]
