Christoph Stückelberger

Christoph Stückelberger (born on 21 June 1951 in Wingen/France)[1] is Founder and was Executive Director of Globethics.net[2] from 2008-2016. He is now President of Globethics.net and also Executive Director of Geneva Agape Foundation[3] in Geneva He has 40 years of experience in global development[4] He is a professor of Ethics at University of Basel[5] Christoph Stückelberger is the author of many articles, books related to peace ethics, bank ethics and anti-corruption. Education Christoph Stückelberger studied Theology at the University of Basel[6] in 1972 and later became Professor of Ethics of University of Basel[7] He also obtained Ph.D. with a doctoral thesis on peace ethics and habilitation on environmental ethics with Venia Docendi at the University of Basel. He got his doctor honoris causa (Dr. h.c.) from Université Protestante, UPC Congo, Kinshasa/DR Congo[8].

Career

Professional Activities

He was an Editor-in-Chief of “Kirchenbote” Magazine[9] for eight years[10]. 15 years Director of the development agency « Bread for All»[11]. He becomes a professor in Ethics at the University of Basel and Distinguished Professor at the Technical University MEPhI[12] in Moscow, Visiting Professor at GOU University in Enugu/Nigeria and at Kingdom Business College in China[13]. In 1995, he founded Transparency Switzerland and became its co-president with Philippe Lévy[14]. He was Director of the Institute for Theology and Ethics of the Federation of Swiss Protestant Churches, Berne from 2004-2008[15].

In 2008, he founded Globethics.net Foundation based in Geneva where he was Executive Director[16]. From July 2016 he is on-going President of the foundation[17]. At the same time (August 2016) he started his role as Executive Director of Geneva Agape Foundation[18] He is currently also a Board member of Quadia SA[19].

Board and Advisor

He was Vice president of the Ethics Committee of Prime Values Ethics Fund[20]; President at the international micro-finance institution ECLOF International[21] ; Founding President of the Swiss Association Church and Environment OeKU; Member and President of the Council of the Swiss Import Promotion Programme SIPPO; member of the Commission for International Cooperation of the Swiss Government and President of its sub-commission on WTO[22].
