Chalease is an American songwriter, rapper, and singer born in raised in Anchorage, Alaska. Chalease began writing music at the age of 9, and began to navigate her way as a solo artist. On her rise to stardom, Chalease released her first single from her upcoming project, "Jagged Silk" entitled Low Rider, produced by Gilde Flores, a key member of Timbaland's production team, garnering over 100K music video views worldwide in the first few months as an independent artist. Determined to continue this momentum, Chalease continued her releases with Block Party, an homage to 90s hip hop culture.

Early Life[edit]

Chalease Cirstie-Ann Berroteran is a Latina rapper[1] was born March 11, 1991 in Nome, Alaska. She grew up in Anchorage with her mother, and three siblings. Chalease attended Robert Service High School, graduating in 2009. She became a mother shortly after, and attended the Art Institute of Phoenix for a short period of time, before dropping out and pursuing her career in music.

Career[edit]

Realizing her rap talents at the age of 18[2] in a studio session, Chalease decided to pursue a career in hip hop. Chalease began doing local shows in Anchorage, and created her first ever publicly released single, I Want You in Oakland, CA in 2015[3]. After moving to Arizona, she began to make noise as an upcoming artist in Phoenix being named as one of the listed acts for the Arizona Hip Hop Festival in both 2017 and 2018[4].

Chalease's singles 'Low Rider' and 'Brown Sugar' were featured in The Source Magazine, Hype Magazine, The Rapfest[5], and other highly recognized hip hop publications.
