Boston Digital (company)[edit]

Boston Digital, formerly Boston Interactive, is a digital marketing agency based out of Charlestown, MA[1]. Boston Digital provides marketing services that include strategy and analytics, creative, digital marketing, user experience, web development, and content marketing.

History[edit]

The company was founded in 1999 by current CEO Chuck Murphy. It began as Homepagefx[2], offering web design and content management services, and underwent several name changes before the most recent rebranding to Boston Digital in 2019[3]. The agency initially focused on web design and has since expanded to a wider variety of digital marketing services. Their offices are located in the Schrafft Center, a former candy factory, in Charlestown. In 2019, Boston Digital added their first CGO to the management team, Peter Prodromou[4].

Boston Digital works with midsize businesses and major corporations from a range of industries[5], including consumer products, life sciences, financial services, high-tech, and non-profits. Some of these companies and organizations include Fage, John Hancock, and Harvard University[6].  

Awards[edit]

Boston Digital has been recognized as an Inc. 5000 Company for five years in a row, from 2009 to 2013[7].

In 2016, Boston Digital was recognized by Acquia as their Growth Partner of the Year for the Americas[8]. They were a finalist in the 2016 MITX Awards[9] in the "Best Website Design or Redesign" category for their website redesign for Zildjian. Boston Digital got second place in the 2016 New England Financial Marketing Association (NEFMA) Best in Marketing Award[10] for the website they created for Metro Credit Union.

In 2017, Built in Boston selected Boston Digital as one of the best Boston tech companies to work for[11]. Boston Digital was awarded a 2017 Finnys Killer Content Award for a marketing campaign done for client Stoel Rives[12].

In 2019, Murphy was selected by The Irish Echo as a Small Business–Big Impact Honoree[13], an award honoring Irish-American entrepreneurs and business leaders.
