Arival Bank is an award-winning[2] digital fintech bank for small businesses, freelancers and crypto-related SMEs, headquartered in Singapore. The startup bank's main distinguishing features are Open API structure, innovative approach to compliance and focus on cryptocurrency-related companies.

As of January 2019, Arival Bank is undergoing the process of acquiring an IFE banking license in United States through Puerto Rico, and applying for an EMI license in Lithuania.

In October 2018 Arival Bank won “Best of Show” award at the prestigious Finovate conference in Hong Kong[3], followed by “DRIVENxxDESIGN” London Design Awards in November 2018[4].

Product overview[edit]

Arival is built as a Banking as a service platform with open APIs, which enables the integration from third-party products (B2B remittance, savings accounts, online-factoring) and provides a full suite of products designed for SMEs in one interface.

One of the core competencies of Arival Bank is digital compliance. Arival partnered up with Promontory, an IBM company as well as DLA Piper. In his article[5] Arival Bank co-founder and CEO Vladislav Solodkiy describes the key ideas behind the bank's compliance policy, including individual approach to corporate customers (each business as a group of people), flexible multi-level KYC and principle of constant data triangulation.

History[edit]

In October 2017, fintech investor Vladislav Solodkiy published a book “The First Fintech Bank’s Arrival”[6], becoming the first to describe the concept of fintech banking. The book was presented at business schools Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and INSEAD, as well as multiple fintech conferences around the world.

Name history[edit]

“Arival” is a wordplay for 1) “arrival of the first digital fintech bank for small businesses, GIGs and crypto-related SMEs” and 2) “a rival for traditional banks, unwilling to serve a new generation of technology businesses and entrepreneurs”.
