Aanal Kotak is an Indian celebrity chef, restaurateur and TV personality from Gujarat. She is the founder of The Secret Kitchen, one of Gujarat's fine dining restaurant.[1] She appears regularly on Colors Gujarati's television cookery show, Rasoi Show.[2][3][4] She has been recognized "Chefpreneur of The Year" in 2018.[5]

Career[edit]

She hails from Ahmadabad, India. Aanal started cooking when she was 12 years old. She holds a degree in fashion designing from National Institute of Fashion Technology. She founded Gujarat's fine dine restaurant, "The Secret Kitchen". Later, she launched another restaurant, "Aanal Kotak's Akshada".[6]

In December 2018, Kotak made a largest Christmas plum cake weighing 750 kgs and 56 feet in length. It was unveiled at a mall in Ahmedabad on the occasion of Christmas.[7][8]

Awards[edit]

  • In June 2018, she was named as "Chefpreneur of The Year" at India Business Awards 2018 and was felicitated by Soha Ali Khan.[5]
  • In June 2019, she received the best restaurant of the year for The Secret Kitchen by Indian Restaurant Congress & Awards.[9]
  • Kotak was featured into "Top 50 Food Entrepreneurs of India" in 2018 and she is one of the only female chefs from Indian state Gujarat.[10]
  • She holds a record in the World Record India for making largest Christmas plum cake in 2018.[11]
